The format of a Formal Letter includes:

The following points need to be taken into consideration while writing a Formal letter-

  1. Formal Letter strictly follows the prescribed Format for writing a Formal Letter.
    b. Use of colloquial words, abbreviations, and slang language should be restricted while writing a formal letter.
    c. A Formal Letter must be precise and to the point.
    d. The Subject line is very important in a Formal Letter.
    The Format of a Formal Letter is as follows –
    1. Sender’s address: The address and contact details of the sender are written here. Include an email and phone number, if required or if mentioned in the question.
    2. Date: The date is written below the sender’s address after Leaving one space or line.
    3. Receiver’s address: The address of the recipient of the mail (the officer/principal / Editor) is written here.
    4. The subject of the letter: The main purpose of the letterforms the subject. It must be written in one line. It must convey the matter for which the letter is written.
    5. Salutation (Sir / Respected Sir / Madam)
    6. Body: The matter of the letter is written here. It is divided into 3 paragraphs as follows –
    Paragraph 1: Introduce yourself and the purpose of writing the letter in brief.
    Paragraph 2: Give detail of the matter.
    Paragraph 3: Conclude by mentioning what you expect. (For example, a solution to your problem, highlighting an issue in the newspaper, etc).

The people have been demanding a Water Treatment plant. The authorities have not yet responded to the repeated requests.
I request you to highlight the problem in your newspaper and arouse public interest. We all need to get together in order to get the plant set up in the area.

    I am a regular reader of your newspaper . I am writing this letter with concern regarding the poor condition of roads. During the rainy season there is water logging everywhere, which makes it difficult for people to walk or to ride their vehicles even.
    It is extremely dangerous for people to come out of their house during rainy season as their are holes on the roads which further leads to accident.
    During rainy season all the contaminated water comes out and spread on the road which arise various problems for people. The born of various diseases like dengue, jaundice.. leads to risk of health of people.
    An awareness must be created regarding this condition. So, it’s my humble request that you highlight this issue in your newspaper and spread awareness among the public.

    water logging in our area.
    These days, water logging become a serious problem across all of us.People of our area facing a lot of problems .

    While going to school and walking on footpath , water filled in those logs spread here and there.Even sometimes our clothes become dirty . vehicles become more dirty as well as the nearby surrounding.
    This is all due to careless of workers.They don’t use sufficient and good material which cause water logging problem in future.It may cause many accidental problems. Roads must be improved time to time to avoid this huge problem.
