The Summer Olympics 2020 is an upcoming international multi-sport event that is scheduled to be held from 24 July to 9 August 2020 in Tokyo Japan.

The 2020 Summer Olympics are officially known as the Games of the XXXII Olympiad and are commonly known as Tokyo 2020.

During the 125th IOC Session in Buenos Aires on 7 September 2013Tokyo was selected as the host city.

These Games will, for the first time, be marked as the return of the Summer Olympics to Tokyo since 1964.

This would be the fourth Olympics overall to be held in Japan. The 1972 Winter Olympics was held in Sapporo and the 1998 Winter Olympics was also held in Nagano.

The 2020 Summer Olympics will be the second of three consecutive Olympic Games had been or will be held in East Asia. Before it, the 2018 Winter Olympics was held in Pyeongchang, South Korea, and the 2022 Winter Olympics was held in Beijing, China.

 

Summer Olympic Games

Though the Olympic Games had been being held from the very early time, yet the modern Olympic Games were founded in 1894 by Pierre De Coubertin when he thought to promote human spirits and international understanding through sporting competition.

The Games of the Olympiad commonly known as the Summer Olympic Games was first held by the International Committee in 18 96 in Athens. It was a big international multi-sport event to develop a human spirit even across the boundaries, and afterward, it has been being repeatedly organized and celebrated every four years. From 1904, the tradition of awarding Gold, Silver and Bronze medal to winners was started. After the success of the Summer Olympic Games, the Winter Olympic Games were also started.

History and mission of Special Olympics World Summer Games 

Special Olympics World Summer Games were founded by Eunice Kennedy Shriver in 1968. It was started with a few volunteers and limited events and sports. Now as an International organization, Special Olympics manage to hold Special Olympics World Summer Games to encourage intellectually disabled people. The games enhance the spirit of sports with the encouragement of the sportspersons with intellectual disability. The games do not only become a source of the entertainment for the enthusiastic but also empower the sports persons with the human spirit which is the global mission of the Special Olympics.

Special Olympics World Summer Games 2015, Los Angeles

Special Olympics World Summer Games were held on July 25, 2015, in Los Angeles.

Participants

As per the series of the games, Special Olympics World Summer Games 2015, Los Angeles was a celebration of the demonstration of those participants who were intellectually disable. The games attracted more than 30,000 participants from across the world to show their talents, achievements, and perseverance. People including volunteers, coaches and spectators enjoyed and encouraged them.
